Darra is a 20-hectare site that had been in operation since the late 1800’s . Formerly, there were three brick manufacturing plants and a quarry.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

A Development Application has been lodged with Brisbane City Council (April 2022) consistent with the Neighbourhood Plan and an Industrial Zoning. Once approved, (expected April 2023) further works will be undertaken including the installation of a signalised intersection on Harcourt Road, and an additional access road off Kiln Street.

FROM 1949 TO TODAY

The last manufacturing plant closed in July 2019. Since the closure, remediation works have been undertaken, with the objective of removing the site from the Environmental Management Register, surrendering the Mining Leases, and the Environmental Authority.
